Last night's meeting with Princeton Review was great! I mean, just look at these beautiful donuts: Donuts aside, this meeting introduced some important points. First of all, we need dues! If you're a pledge, please get your dues to us as soon as possible. We use this money to feed you at meetings and make shirt orders, so the sooner we get them, the better!

Yesterday's profit share had a great turnout! Thank you to everyone who came out and participated, we really appreciate it!
We will also be launching our new Twitter account today! Click on the Twitter icon in the side menu to check us out and follow us! We'll be using this account to post daily updates, photos, and whatever else we feel like needs to be on there. It'll be a good time. One last point that came up at the profit share: it's not too late to join Tribeta! If you have a friend that's interested or know other biology majors looking for a good resume builder, you can help us advertise our organization! It's as easy as directing them to this site or one of our emails. Thanks for your help! First of all, thank you to everyone who came out to our presentation of Research 101! We appreciate your attentiveness and hope you all learned something that will help you begin or improve your undergraduate research. Unfortunately, we noticed that several of you left after the first presentation. This is inconsiderate of the other presenters and will not be tolerated by our organization. For this reason, those who left early will not be awarded with a credit for yesterday's meeting. In the future, make sure to stay until the end of the meeting to receive a credit!
On a lighter note, we are hosting a profit share this evening from 6-8PM at the Red Mango on Rio Grande. Come on out and enjoy some frozen yogurt to help us raise money! You will be given 1/2 of a fundraising credit plus 1/4 credit for each friend you bring for a total of up to 1 credit! Stick around to socialize with other Betas and we'll throw in an extra 1/2 social credit. For details about this event, click here. At our second meeting on Monday, September 28th, Tribeta will be hosting Research 101 from 6-8pm in PAI 3.02. At this event, we will be bringing in resources from all over campus to give you the information you need to get involved in undergraduate research! Our speakers will include SURGe, the Undergraduate Research Office, FRI, and more! The floor will be open for questions at the end of the presentation, so please take this opportunity to learn anything you want to know about getting into research or taking your research to the next level.
This meeting is open to all students, so tell your friends! And, if you're new to Tribeta, it's not too late to sign up for your pledge semester and pay dues! As usual, this meeting will also count as a meeting credit for attending members. See you there! We have cleared our roster to make room for this semester’s Betas! That means that ALL members, both pledges and actives, must send us a membership request through HornsLink. You can do this by hitting the orange “Join Organization” button at the top of our page! After your request has been approved, please fill out the Fall 2015 Membership Application under the forms tab. This is just a short form where you can give us your contact information for our records, and it should only take a few minutes to fill out.
We will try to keep up with requests as they come in, but please allow one business day for your request to be approved. If you have any problems or questions about this process, email an officer to let us know! Thank you for your cooperation. We will be hosting a game of capture the flag (complete with glow in the dark accessories) this Thursday on the capitol lawn! This event counts towards your social credit requirement and will be a nice study break before the first wave of midterms gets started. We will be meeting outside the Wendy's at Jester between 7:30PM and 7:45PM before walking down to the capitol as a group. Wanna play? You can click here to sign up! Make sure to wear clothes that you would be comfortable running, hiding, and stealing the enemy's flag in.
Good luck, and may the best team win! Next Monday, September 14th marks the first Tribeta meeting of the Fall 2015 semester! Be ready to join us at 6PM in WEL 1.308 for a night of science, pizza, and prizes. This is also an important opportunity for Tribeta hopefuls to sign up and get more details on the pledging process, so if you’re new to our organization, be sure to attend! RSVP now to reserve your share of the pizza: (RSVP closes at midnight on Friday, September 11.)
This year’s first meeting will also be hosting a student panel on “What I wish I knew as a Freshman”. Even if this isn’t your first year at UT, you can expect to learn a lot about how to get the most out of your college experience here in Austin. See you next Monday! Doesn't our table look awesome? It's only halfway through the summer tabling season, and we've already had a great turn out! If you want to help out during one of the last three sessions, sign up on the spreadsheet found here: Summer Orientation Organization Fair 2015 If you have any questions about sign ups, just ask our President, Janelle. See you there! Summer is here, and that means it's tabling season!
